Families Anonymous is a support group for the families and friends of substance abusers. The program is based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. As in other 12 step programs, participants learn that they are powerless over the actions of others. By putting the focus on themselves (the only one they have the power to change), they learn to achieve serenity.
