The mission of Contraband Days, Inc. is to promote Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana. The festival serves as an attraction to promote tourism for Southwest Louisiana, while providing quality family entertainment. Contraband Days, Inc. is a non-profit orgnization, and serves as an outlet for charitable and non-profit organizations in the community as to raise funds for their causes.

Organized in 1990, the Krewe du Club de la Contree is a ladies' Krewe composed of members of the Country Club Auxillary. Their idea is to have a laid-back krewe with nothing much to do but enjoy their time together.

Krewe de Charlie Sioux

this Krewe was conceptualized in 1994 by people from Sioux City, Iowa and Lake Charles. The Krewe was chartered in 1996 and boasts approximately 50 members. Delegations from Sioux City travel to Lake Charles to revel in the Mardi Gras festivities. The Ball celebrates Mardi Gras with the sights and sounds of Southwest Louisiana, but with a Sioux land twist.

Krewe de Classique

Organized in 1987, the Krewe De Classique grew out of a desire to see more black participation in Mardi Gras activities in Southwest Louisiana. Membership is comprised of a wide variety of individuals and couples from throughout the area. This Krewe features a unique custom in the Ball Pageneantry where each member wears an appropriate costume and performs in some aspect of the program.

Krewe de Grand Bois

Established in 1980, the Krewe du Grand Bois holds its annual ball the Friday before Mardi Gras at Habbi Temple. The Krewe was started by Berk and Pat Fontenot. Membership is limited to 80 couples and the Krewe has a long waiting list of people who want to join.

Krewe de la Famille

Started in 1979, the Krewe de la Famille promotes couple and family participation. Each year it has several parties and events for the children of members and the debutante daughters are honored at the annual pageant. This krewe is also known for its skits and tap dancers which it presents during the annual Mardi Gras Ball.

Krewe de la Noblesse

Chartered in 1985, the Krewe de la Noblesse boasts 200 members which celebrate Mardi Gras New Orleans style! This Krewe celebrates the mardi Gras spirit year-round with socials and other functions. The most spectacular event is the Ball and presentation of the Royal Court.
